Graduate Student Poster Competition

We’re proud to share that two of our graduate students, Beatriz Herrera and Ketzalzin Vazquez, recently participated in the "Davis College Graduate Student Research Poster Competition" held at the Texas Tech International Cultural Center

Beatriz presented her research on the comparison of the physicochemical profiles of different types of cellulose toward tissue engineering applications, offering insight into how material properties influence potential biomedical use. Ketzalzin showcased her work on the surface chemistry modifications of cellulose nanocrystals, a strategy designed to tune their behavior in polar and nonpolar media, an important step toward more versatile nanomaterial applications.

Both students did an excellent job representing our lab and contributed to an exciting exchange of ideas with fellow researchers. Their participation not only reflects their dedication and excellence but also highlights the vibrant research community we’re proud to cultivate.

We congratulate them on this achievement and are excited to see how their work continues to develop. Great job, Beatriz and Ketzalzin!
